K!CKERS - GINGOOG CHILLS
LUNA THEATER
1953. The movie, Quo Vadis, was shown at Luna Theater, the first movie theater in the municipality of Gingoog. The theater had two 35mm film projectors and its own electric generator. During that time Gingoog did not have electricity until the late 1950s. The truck with the movie advertisement was used to go to the barrios to announce the films being shown at the theater.
Shown in the picture below is a painting on top of the truck and was done by Gingoog's famous painter-artist Maning Briones. During the suroy of the truck, music was also played on the trumpet speaker.
